60 This or That Questions for Couples and Friends

This or that is the lowest-effort game there is, which is why it works. There's nothing to set up and no wrong answers, and each question takes a second. It's good for the first five minutes of a call, when you're both still arriving.

Here are sixty, half for couples and half for anyone. They're the prompts from In Sync, the this-or-that game in the arcade, where you both pick at the same moment and score a point together every time you match.

How to play

Read one out, count to three, and both answer at once. Answering at the same time matters. If one of you goes first, the other just agrees.

Keep a shared score: one point each time you say the same thing. You're on the same team, so nobody loses. The rounds where you don't match are the ones to stop and talk about.

Why the game does it better

On a call, "count to three" never quite works. One of you is half a second late and heard the other's answer. In In Sync your pick stays hidden until you've both tapped, then the two flip over together. It keeps the score for you and shows how often you matched at the end.

Pick the Couples or Friends set and 10 or 20 rounds. Ten rounds take about two minutes. If you want the longer, more revealing version, How Well Do You Know Me asks you to guess each other's answers and doesn't settle for a match.
